How to use 808 Teens
808 Teens is a free, English-language browser chat community for people aged 13–20. You can join public conversations, talk about shared interests, play trivia and take part in community features when they are enabled.
Join from a phone or computer
Open the chat page in your browser. Use the login option if you already have an account, or the registration option to create one. Guest access may also be offered when enabled by the site. The options shown on the login screen are the ones currently available.
You do not need to install a separate app to use browser chat. If you have trouble signing in, check your username and password and use the password-recovery option rather than posting account details in a room.
Start with the public room
Read a few messages before joining in so you can follow the topic. Introduce yourself with a nickname and an interest, then ask a question that other people can answer. Music, games, movies and creative hobbies are useful starting points. Our conversation starters give you specific ideas without asking people for private information.
The member list helps you see who is around. A quiet room does not mean you need to repeat a message: give people time to respond. Use English in room conversations so other members and moderators can follow along.
Private messages and unwanted contact
Private messaging lets members have a separate conversation. Respect a person's choice not to reply, and do not send repeated messages to pressure them. A private chat is still subject to the site rules.
Use the ignore tool to limit unwanted interaction and the report tool to flag a problem. Contact a moderator when you need help. Avoid sharing account passwords, money, verification codes or intimate images. If someone pressures you or makes you uncomfortable, stop responding.
Play the room's trivia quiz
When Quizbot is active, it posts a question in the configured room. Answer in chat and watch for the result. Staff choose the quiz topic and room; members do not need to open the admin panel.
Topics include geography, animals, K-pop, movies, gaming and mixed trivia. Halloween After Dark adds questions about Halloween traditions, spooky stories, films and games. The Riley pack remains available, and Staff Quiz uses the community's supplied staff facts. A topic may not be running every time you visit.
Share a Spotify song
Open Song Share and submit a Spotify track link with the song and artist. Regular members can submit one song per week, subject to approval. Admins can submit five per week without the approval step. The allowance shown in the form tells you how many submissions you have left.
The 808 playlist uses Spotify tracks, so a YouTube link cannot be added to it. Where the Spotify player is available, it can be minimized while you chat. The player may be hidden on small screens. Playback availability, previews and sign-in requirements are controlled by Spotify; adding a song does not guarantee full playback for every listener.
Drawing Board and Talent Show
When a contest is available, check its topic and stage before submitting. A contest can collect entries, review them and then open voting. Talent entries can include the supported audio, drawing, image or video formats shown in the form. Entry approval and voting are separate steps, so a submitted entry may not appear in the voting list immediately.
Follow the current contest instructions and submit your own work. Do not upload someone else's private content. These features may be switched off or between rounds; their availability is managed by staff.
If something is not working
Refresh the page once and check your connection. On a phone, try closing an old duplicate chat tab. If a problem persists, tell staff which control you used, your browser or device type, and the exact error message. Do not include a password or authentication code.
For site help outside the room, use Contact us. For conduct or account issues, read the rules first so your report includes the relevant details.
